Welcome to Big On Japan! This website is a collection of articles I’ve written over the last few years during my time spent living in the Kansai region of Japan. I’m now editing them and posting them here in the hope of getting feedback from readers, as I hope to publish Big On Japan as a book sometime in the near future.

My articles mostly feature observations and analysis of the Japanese people, language and culture, but also sometimes cover other aspects of my life in Japan teaching English (eg comparisons between western and Japanese culture, notes on the English language, my favourite slang I use to talk about Japan etc).
